United States Secretary of State John Kerry said that the US government has all the necessary evidence – satellite images, radar data and more – about the shooting down of flight MH17 in eastern ukraine by a Buk surface-to-air missile: „We saw the takeoff. We saw the trajectory. We saw the hit.“. Some of his statements concerning this case are available on the governmental website state.gov: “Interview With David Gregory of NBC’s Meet the Press” and “Remarks With Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop, and Australian Minister of Defense David Johnston“.
In the NBC interview with David Gregory, Kerry replied to the question „Are you bottom-lining here that Russia provided the weapon?“: „There’s a story today confirming that, but we have not within the Administration made a determination. But it’s pretty clear when – there’s a build-up of extraordinary circumstantial evidence. I’m a former prosecutor. I’ve tried cases on circumstantial evidence; it’s powerful here. But even more importantly, we picked up the imagery of this launch. We know the trajectory. We know where it came from. We know the timing, and it was exactly at the time that this aircraft disappeared from the radar.„.
In the remarks with the australian polititians and Chuck Hagel in Sydney, Australia, Kerry said: „On the subject of sanctions with respect to Russia, we are very understanding of our friend, Australia’s deep, deep anger and its need for justice with respect to what has happened. This is an unconscionable crime on a huge international order that findings already, without the full investigation being done – and we are pressing for a full investigation, because nothing is complete until you have a full investigation. But there is no question – and we’ve said this publicly previously, but that this type of weapon and all the evidence of it was seen on our imagery. We saw the takeoff. We saw the trajectory. We saw the hit. We saw this airplane disappear from the radar screen. So there’s really no mystery about where it came from and where these weapons have come from.“.
The question is: If the USA really has all the evidence about the crash of the malaysian airplane, why don’t they show it to the public, to the investigators, to other governments and to other authorities? And what about the sanctions without any evidence?
